UTS-FTAM (File Transport, Access, and Management)
UTS-FTAM provides a suite of File Transfer Access
and Management (FTAM) initiator applications that allow
user applications to perform file transfer operations. The FTAM protocol is used in Telecom Networks to retrieve Billing data, logs and Performance data. UTS-FTAM allows developers to
easily build applications that support simple, unstructured
file transfer, access, and management (FTAM) for initiator
and responder implementations on UNIX, Linux, embedded and Windows Systems.
UTS-FTAM includes an FTAM responder capable of interoperating
with any Xelas Software FTAM initiator or other FTAM-compliant
initiator.
The product also provides APIs suitable for the development
of initiator applications that allows multiple clients
to register and utilize FTAM services. Such initiators
may perform file transfers with any system running an
FTAM-compliant responder.
Customer installations
The UTS-FTAM was initially developed by Retix, a pioneer in OSI software protocols, and further developed and enhanced by Vertel Corporation. The software has been installed in numerous Telecom Networks all over the world for collecting billing and performance data from switches. Customers include:
- Equipment vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Tellabs, Ciena, ZTE, Huawei, NEC
- Service Providers: T-COM, British Telecom,
- ISV: SDM, IBM, Acecomm, TTI
Supported Platforms and Protocols
FTAM initiator and responder programs can run with the Xelas UTS Netlink product which supports RFC-1006, OSI-LAN and X.25 protocols.
The following platforms are supported by UTS-FTAM:
- Solaris 2.8 and higher (SPARC and x86)
- AIX 5.3 and 6.x
- HPUX 10 and higher (PA-RISC and Itanium)
- Redhat Linux 4 and 5
